The Irish are known for their orange, white, and green flag. Another color they’re well-known for? Red. Red hair.Red tempers. Red ale. In Randolph County, NC we are sometimes noted for our red clay. This clay was the foundation of what was known as the Upper Road, the road that brought the first Scots-Irish to Randolph County in 1756. Crafting an Irish Red for St. Patrick’s Day seemed suitable. Upper Road is a copper hued ale with rich malt flavors, light caramel/toffee notes, and subtle hop balance.
