St. Wenceslaus Bohemian Pilsener

St. Wenceslaus Bohemian Pilsener

Because Bohemian hops were so valued, King Wenceslas ordered the death penalty for anyone caught exporting them. Doing so obviously endeared him to the local hop growers and brewers. Once canonized as Czechoslovakia’s patron saint, by extension he became the patron saint of Czech brewers. The crisp, clean character of the pilsener will be a welcome beverage on hot summer days and warm summer nights. The hop character will separate it from light hopped, well-known American lagers, while being refreshing and thirst quenching. Saint Wenceslas will have craft beer drinkers saying “Na zdravi!” (To your health!) with ease.
Origin: Saint Wenceslas Bohemian Pilsener is not only homage to this saint’s connection to beer, but also to the founders’ ancestral heritage. Joel and Andrew are both of Czech lineages. To brew a beer that pays respects from whence their families came was an easy decision to make. Each batch of this pilsener is another thank you to the family they knew, and the family they are indebted to.
